Entry Pathways to ECU
Please select from the following options:
(A) Four or more TEE subjects
If you did four or more TEE subjects and sat the TEE exams, you should receive a TER (Tertiary Entrance Rank) by the 28th December. Your University Advice letter and TISC website screen will contain general advice about eligibility for University. Please read this carefully:
- The minimum TER for 2007 was 55. For all minimum TER scores, please click here.
- You may be eligible to apply to ECU via portfolio submission entry. Please click on the link for details.
- If you have not met the minimum TER score, you may be eligible for the University Preparation Course (UPC). To apply for the UPC, please fill out an application form . For any queries, please contact us on 134 328.
(B) A combination of TEE and Wholly School Assessed (WSA) subjects or only Year 12 WSA subjects
If you have completed Year 12 WSA subjects but don't have a TER and would like to apply for entry to ECU, you have several options:
- You may be eligible for portfolio submission entry.
- You may apply for the University Preparation Course (UPC). To apply for the UPC, please fill out an application form. For any queries, please contact us on 134 328.

TER Cut Off Scores
For ECU, the baseline TER cutoff for 2007 was 55. However some individual course cutoffs may be higher, due to high demand. Click here to see 2007 Course TER minimums.
If not eligible for portfolio submission:
You are best advised to consider repeating TEE, or applying for a TAFE course, or applying for a course at PIBT or Alexander Institute of Technology.

TAFE / Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- Those who hold, or are completing, a TAFE /RTO Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma can apply directly to ECU through the Fast-Track Portfolio Entry pathway. General University and Course entry criteria will be applied. For any queries, please contact us on 134 328. If you do not wish to apply via this pathway TAFE students and graduates should apply through TISC for Semester 1, 2007.
- A TAFE /RTO Certificate III meets minimum entry to our University Preparation Course (UPC) . To apply for the UPC, please fill out an application form . For any queries, please contact us on 134 328.
- TAFE /RTO qualifications may also assist towards entry into a range of undergraduate courses through ECU's portfolio entry pathway.
Perth Institute of Business and Technology (PIBT) Applicants
ECU accepts applications from students who have completed a course at PIBT. Normally a Diploma or Associate Diploma would be required to meet ECU's entry requirements. You may also gain exemptions from the university degree if you have an acceptable qualification from this college .
PIBT graduates can apply directly to ECU. Click here to download an application form.

If you have recently arrived from Interstate and have completed HSC or another recognised group of school leaver/tertiary entrance exams, you may apply through TISC. You will need to submit your original statement of results. For any queries, please contact us on (08) 6304 6304.
If you have recently arrived from overseas and do not have Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency, you will need to apply directly to ECU International Admissions.
